The Central Oregon Nordic Club
The Central Oregon Nordic Club offers day tours for snow shoers, and both beginning and experienced cross-country skiers. The Club also offers cross-country ski clinics. Summer tours focus on hiking. All tours are offered midweek and on weekends. The group also meets the second Friday each month October through March at the Central Oregon Environmental Center.
The Club is a strong advocate of the Leave No Trace approach to participation in outdoor activities. Activities organized by CONC include maintaining the area's ski shelters and stocking them with firewood, clearing backcountry ski trails, and hosting the annual Ski Swap of used and donated outdoor gear. CONC initiated the region's High School cross-country ski racing program and continues to support it.
A schedule of tours is available at local outdoor stores as well as online www.onc.org or www.envirocenter.org.
