Re:Art.
Rethink. Reuse. Trashform.
Trashformations Transforms Waste Into Art!
Proceeds from this event benefit the Central Oregon
Environmental Center and their work to create a sustainable
community in Central Oregon.
What is
Trashformations?
Trashformations is the
largest art-making event in Oregon highlighting recycling, reusing, and
most of all rethinking waste. People in teams or by themselves
assemble at Pakit Liquidators to create artworks made from the
various treasures at Pakit. Some participants weld old
metal things, some screw and bolt salvaged wood and some glue,
wire, or nail other materials. All participants create
assemblages out of items that are thought by many, to be of
little or no value. The event is held in conjunction with Earth
Month and the Earth Day Fair.
Date: March 28-29, 2009
Time: 7:00 a.m. 3/28 -
7:00 p.m. 3/29
Location: Pakit
Liquidators, SW 9th
and Armour in Bend, Oregon
Participants have 36 hours
to create finished works of art. Each participant or team
must bring their own tools and fasteners. Workstations,
power and the raw building/creating materials are provided by
Pakit Liquidators. Download a Trashformations
registration form.

Why would I want to be involved in
this?
It’s fun. It’s
different. It’s an opportunity to make art with a wealth
of found objects and building materials at your fingertips.
Everyone works side by side during the day, gaining insight and
inspiration from each other. Bring some friends and work
as a team! It’s also an opportunity to show your
work during a special Earth Month exhibition at the Shops at
the Old Mill on April 3rd.
Who puts on
Trashformations?
Pakit Liquidators and The
Source Weekly host this event, with net proceeds going to the
Central Oregon Environmental Center. The Trashformations art
exhibition is hosted by The Shops at the Old Mill.
