Riverfest Event: Bats of the Deschutes Basin

Learn about the 14 species of bats that occupy the Deschutes Basin, the importance of healthy riparian zones to bats, and how researchers study bats here in the Pacific Northwest. Watch a slideshow, and participate in field observation of bats, including a demonstration of echolocation call recording (AKA the BAT DETECTOR).
