The Opportunity
Foundation of Central Oregon (OFCO)
The OFCO is a benchmark organization that is a leader in
providing services to people in Central Oregon with
disabilities. OFCO envisions a world in which persons
with disabilities are understood, respected, and valued by the
public and in which they are supported in their choices for
jobs and places to live and are continually encouraged to grow
and realize their dreams.
OFCO envisions the people it serves are important and essential members of their communities. OFCO has a supportive and interdependent relationship with its wider community that enhances its work for persons with disabilities. OFCO’s Board and staff exhibit a commitment to its vision, mission and values, in a culture that sustains respectful relationships with each other. We will all foster continuous personal and professional growth, displaying excellence in all our work. OFCO creatively develops resources to meet future needs and as an organization, enjoys fiscal stability that enables it to provide quality support for people with disabilities into the future.
Opportunity Foundation runs a thriving clothing recycling service. Instead of heading for the landfill, unsold clothing from area thrift stores is bundled and either shipped to under-developed countries or turned into rags. We accept used clothing from our thrift stores, as well as from other similar operations. With our clothing recycling program, donors are assured their tax-deductible contributions will be used and not thrown away. OFCO also offers plastics recycling, including bags, shrink wrap or plastic lumber wrap. The plastic is baled and recycled, avoiding disposal in area landfills.
