Central Oregon Landwatch

Central Oregon Landwatch's mission isto encourage effective land use planning by providing information and support for meaningful public participation, by researching, drafting, and disseminating ideas on public policy, and by aggressively enforcing federal, state, and local land use and environmental laws and codes.

Central Oregon LandWatch is a non-profit land use watchdog group located in Bend, Oregon. Their mission is to help achieve a balanced and integrated approach to land use planning in Central Oregon that will safeguard our natural resources and environment and foster socially and economically thriving communities.

By appealing thoughtless growth, advocating for smart planning policies and choices, and by informing and involving the communities we live in, they strive to ensure that as Central Oregon grows, its essential elements are not merely conserved, but that our quality of life is actually enhanced.

As it has for two decades, LandWatch aims to keep public officials accountable to the values of their community and to stand up for environmental, wildlife, and open space values in the land use process by tracking code changes, major land use applications, and Measure 37 decisions. We also participate in major policy discussions locally and at the state-level with a mind towards setting sound policy for the future.
